About the business
Synty Studios is a world leading, award winning game asset development studio based across Aotearoa/New Zealand. Our studio creates and publishes content for the Unity Asset Store, Unreal Marketplace and our own online store.
About the role:
As an Unreal Technical Artist you will work closely with the asset production team to create and manage a pipeline for our content to be ported from Unity (our lead platform) to the Unreal Engine.
You will leverage your knowledge of Unity and Unreal Engine to create tools and processes to automate and streamline the porting process, allowing us to quickly deliver assets to the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
You will manage the quality of assets on the Unreal Engine Marketplace by working with Tech Support to help deliver updates and bug fixes on a regular basis.
Your role will require you to:

Setup Models, Materials, Collision, Characters in Unreal.

Rebuild our custom shaders implemented in Unity’s Amplify Shader Editor in the Unreal native shader editor.

Find or create tools to transfer Demo scenes from Unity to the Unreal Engine.

Create tools and processes to automate and streamline the transfer of new assets and updates between engines.

Communicate new learnings and best practices to the team to improve our asset production pipeline.

Communicate and work with Technical Support to improve the quality of our assets on the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

Technical Requirements:

Strong Knowledge of Unreal Engine

General Unity Engine Experience

Experience with Maya for modelling and UV fixes/tweaking.

Experience with Shader editing within Unreal

Experience with Shaders and Amplify Shader Editor in Unity a plus
Nice to have:

Experience with Photoshop

Experience with other engines like Godot
